Hi, I'm Lilly, and welcome to my ePortfolio! My name is Lilly Germeroth, and I am seeking a position in conservation advocacy. I recently defended a Master's in Ecology at the Pennsylvania State University (PSU), State College, Pennsylvania. My project centered on local monarch conservation efforts, investigating how different species of host plant impacts monarch survival in the field, particularly through interactions with other insects. I worked with Dr. Sara Hermann in her Lab of Arthropod Ecology and Trophic Interactions.
In May 2020, I graduated from the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T), Rolla, Missouri with my Bachelor of Science degree (Summa Cum Laude), majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Sustainability. This website reflects my experiences to date that have shaped the scientist I am and that prepare me to reach my goals. Please explore it and contact me via email ([email protected]) if you have any questions! |
I owe my passion for the natural world to the Missouri Ozarks where I grew up with the privilege of a childhood steeped in nature. I have a broad ecological perspective, and my current interests are not limited to a single taxonomic group, but center around plant-insect interactions. This worldview has been shaped by a diverse set of research experiences, from studying subtle but fantastic tallgrass prairies, to the astounding rainforests of Borneo.
